The 2020 Geneva Auto show was much anticipated, and long awaited by many. But unfortunately, the show was cancelled due to setbacks of the COVID-19 virus which has been spreading across the world. The cancellation of the show ruined chances for many car companies to make the dramatic debut to their brand new cars that they were looking for, and also left car fanatics and fans disappointed when they were eager to see the new models of high performance cars. If you are one of the many disappointed people looking for details, you have come to the right place as we will review all the details that sets these both amazing looking, and performing cars apart.
Car number 1: Aston Martin V12 Speedster
Aston Martin has been a leading British performance car manufacturer and a cynosure in the industry for decades. Their lethal combinations between incredibly fast engines and luxurious interiors have shown they have what it takes to build an excellent car.
You catch a few Aston Martins in the James Bond movies as well. For the V12 speedster, Aston Martin’s goal was to create a track oriented car with the same foundations as some of their previous production cars. The V12 speedster comes in with around 690 horsepower, and with a twin turbo V12 engine perfect for the track, while what makes the V12 speedster interesting is that it has no roof, and no windscreens.
A big reason on why the car is like this is that it gained inspiration from the 1959 24H of Le Mans winning DBR1 race car. For now Aston Martin have stated that in the U.S. the V12 speedster is only going to be used on track, and will not be street legal due to the lack of protection.
The majority of the bodywork is aero carbon fiber for increased track performance and lightweight. Moving to the interior, the car has the edges trimmed with carbon fiber, while the seats are trimmed with both leather and cloth providing soft and comfortable seats.
The new V12 has an eight speed gearbox, with adaptive dampers and carbon ceramic brakes as a standard. Aston Martin predicts the 0-62MPH time will be 3.5 seconds, and the top speed will be limited to 186MPH. The company states that production will be limited to only 88, with the V12 having a price of 1M USD. More info is to be gathered when production and driving starts but it will be interesting to see how the car reacts on the track with no windscreen, but regardless, Aston Martin started with a beautiful idea, and turned it into a beautiful car.
Car number 2: Koenigsegg Gemera
Christian Von Koenigsegg has been one of the most prestigious performance car manufacturers in the world. Ever since he started to build his reputation with his Koenigsegg CC, he has been a leading innovator in the performance supercar industry. This is where his new Koenigsegg Gemera comes into play.
With his new masterpiece, Koenigsegg has managed to create a hybrid supercar that both looks, and performs spectacularly. Koenigsegg has even made this car somewhat “family friendly” as he created his new car with 4 seats, the first time that Koenigsegg has ever done this.
The new Gemera’s engine comes with the same flex fuel technology as some of their previous cars, which runs on renewable alcohol, and it is a 2.0 liter twin turbo coming in with 600 horsepower. The claim is that the car can go from 0-62 MPH in 1.9 seconds, which would be extremely fast for a 4 seater.
Koenigsegg has also finally decided to go with his first all wheel-drive performance car which is also the first time he has done this, therefore he implemented an electric motor driving the front axle. Because Koenigsegg has thrown in such a small motor, he states that it allows for the car to be more spacious and more friendly. So spacious that in fact, there are 2 trunks and compartments for luggage.
The estimated weight of the car is said to be around 4150 pounds, which for a spacious car is pretty surprising. Koenigsegg has not come to a final price, but it would not be of a surprise that they would make it premium. However, all the features on the new car further back the statement that the customer would be paying a premium price for a premium car.
Car number 3: Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut
Chrisitan Koenigsegg’s cupidity to make new and improved performance supercars is never ending as once again, he is releasing another supercar that is taking speed to a whole different level.
For the speed demons, the all new Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is just for them, as new computer simulations have shown that it can reach a max speed of 330 MPH. Koenigsegg have stated that the all new Jesko Absolut will be their fastest production car ever made, as the new Jesko Absolut has aero written all over it. The goal with Koenigsegg’s new Jesko was to make the ultimate Koenigsegg supercar with a sleek aero design and maximum horsepower.
Koenigsegg have opted to remove the rear wing for the Jesko Absolut to reduce downforce and drag reducing downforce from, 1400kg to 150kg of downforce. Instead, it now comes with two rear hood fins to maximize airflow and aero-dynamics.
Just like mainly every car, not only did Koenigsegg design the chassis with full carbon fiber, but also every aero-dynamic fairing on the car was made from carbon fiber to ensure maximum weight loss for the car’s performance. Koenigsegg’s exhaust for the Jesko Absolut features 2 pipes conjoining from each side of the engine forming one singular tail pipe which has a very nice look that fits with the rest of the car.
The Jesko Absolut also comes in a track oriented model formally solely called the Jesko. The Jesko has an updated aero package that comes with maybe one of the girthiest spoilers ever seen. On to the engine, Koenigsegg went with a twin turbo-charged v8 engine with a 180 degree crankshaft, and achieving a max rev limit of 8500 rpm. Koenigsegg have claimed that the flat plain design of the Jesko Absolut has allowed for the engine to evenly fire across the engine banks, thus creating more power to the car. The car produces around 1600 horsepower which is an incredible amount that might even make it the fastest production car ever made. Koenigsegg have also implemented a technology known as UPOD which stands for “Ultimate Power on Demand”.
This allows the driver to get maximum acceleration due to the selection and engagement of gearing by a computer in the car. With a demanding price of 3 Million USD, there is a lot more info to find out of this car. Koenigsegg have put in countless hours into making their new Jesko the best that it can be, and the amount of detail and power on the car might go to say that Koenigsegg might have the “Ultimate Supercar”.
Car Number 4: Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport
Bugatti has always been prestigious in the supercar industry. They are known for their pursuit of perfection in every car.
The french based brand has been one of the oldest brands in the supercar industry. This shows no lack of experience to make high performance supercars and they are still on the run for one of the greatest supercar companies in the world.
The new Chiron Pur Sport from Bugatti offers all that excellence, and coming with 1500 horsepower, the car was definitely made for speed. Starting with the engine, Bugatti went with an outrageous 8.0 liter quad turbo W16 engine which has been recalibrated with an automatic gearbox.
Bugatti improved the maximum rpm redline, 200 rpm higher than the original chiron. With this, the driver can push the car to new limits and reach new speeds, and 15 percent closer gear ratios in the gearbox give the car even more power.
Bugatti have made only slight changes to the bodywork of the car as they made the fairing more aero-dynamic than the original chiron. The interesting catch of the new Chiron Pur Sport is that Bugatti have claimed that the new Chiron Pur Sport has more downforce on the rear axle of the car, but the car is evened out due to the large, front splitter, and vents that are at the front.
The nearly 75 inch wide spoiler at the back of the Chiron Pur Sport also contributes a large amount to the downforce on the rear axle. Bugatti have claimed that with the new Chiron, they focused more on agility and helping the car handle better in order for the smoothest possible driving.
The Chiron has been modified with new wheels that have been designed to boost brake ventilation and aero-dynamics, and they are wrapped in special tires made by Michelin made for the specific car.
Bugatti have also made tweaks to their suspension, as they have made both the front and rear firmer but a good amount. Titanium brake pad base panels and wheels help the car save nearly 42 pounds from the original Chiron.
With a price of 3.55 Million, only 19 will be manufactured. Bugatti has done a great job yet again on making the car lighter and more powerful with of course, pure excellence.
Car number 5: Porsche Turbo S
Over the years, Porsche has built quite the reputation for manufacturing some of the top performance cars in the world. One of their most famous models of them all, the 911 Turbo and Turbo S, has just met quite the improvement.
The new Turbo now has a whopping 640 horsepower with a twin turbo charged 3.8 liter flat six engine in the back of the car. Porsche made minimal changes to the overall appearance of the car, as they went with the traditional Porsche bodywork and look. The new Turbo S comes with Porsche’s standard suspension called the Porsche Active Suspension Management which is constantly changing the dampers to make the ride as smooth as possible.
However Porsche have given the option to change to their sport suspension if desired. Not much has changed in the exhaust system except for the fact that Porsche have added a sport exhaust option with 4 oval shaped tailpipes, to maximize power for track days.
While the new 911 Turbo S has outstanding performance, Porsche still has managed to make the new Turbo S’ interior very luxurious, with which the standard interior of the car comes with all leather and carbon fiber inside, not to mention that it comes with the Porsche GT sport steering wheel as well.
The new Turbo S comes with all wheel drive as a standard, and has a 0-60MPH time of 2.6 seconds. Starting price for the Turbo S coupe is around 205K USD which is a perfect price considering how Porsche made the car not only luxurious on the inside, but fast on the outside.

Car number 7: Mclaren 765 LT
This absolute beast of a machine was scheduled to be debuted at the 2020 Geneva auto show. Not only does the car produce almost 755 HP, but Mclaren’s new design with the model, was more focused on cutting off weight in order to make a great car for the track as well.
To start off with the engine, Mclaren made minor changes as the 765 LT’s engine is the same 4.0 liter twin-turbo v8 engine as its cousin, the Mclaren 720s. Mclaren started with a 720s foundation and made some improvements by adding lots more carbon fiber, essentially making the car lighter, and also improved their Proactive Chassis Control System by helping it better last during long hours on the circuit. Mclaren decided to go with an aggressive looking exhaust, with 4 tailpipes, that were all made of titanium to minimize weight and increase overall performance.
Heading to the interior of the car, Mclaren claimed that the lightweight race seats save nearly 40 pounds, and Mclaren have added the option to custom make the cockpit of the car with a mixture between soft-grain leather and faux suede. Going to the brakes, Mclaren took the traditional brakes off of the Mclaren Senna and threw them onto the 765 LT.
For the suspension, Mclaren made a minor change as they went with the traditional suspension, but reduced the ride height by a slight 0.2 inches. In the new car, both dampers and spring rates also have been increased which will increase comfort on the track and on the road.
When purchased, the 765 will come with track ready Pirelli Trofeo R tires as the standard, but with sizes unchanged from the Mclaren 720s. Mclaren will limit the production of the 765 to 765 cars made, and the car will have a starting price of 375,000 USD.
Overall, the Mclaren 765 LT is a car that will get the customer a bang for their buck, as Mclaren did an amazing job of managing to fit in all the features that the car has, while keeping the car at less than 3,000 pounds.
